Here's a book I'm looking forward to read; it's called 'The Graphic Art of the Underground' and it steps into the world of visual art and design of alternative and youth cultures from the 1950s to today.
Former co-editors and publishers of UK alternative arts magazine 'Nude', Ian Lowey and Suzy Prince, brought together the artwork of Hotrod culture, Psychedelia, Comic Art, Lowbrow, Pop Surrealism and other relevant areas to explore it in an academic way. The creations of Mark Ryden, Marion Peck, Joe Sorren, Alex Gross, Gary Panter, Jamie Reid, Robert Williams and many more are included (and, yippee! my work is part of it too).
The Graphic Art of the Underground can be pre-ordered in the UK/EU at Amazon.co.uk. The book will be released in the US, Australia, India and other territories worldwide in November 2014.
9/17 update ; on the book's website can be found more (order) information.
